Most School Spirited

Sharon Pinkerton and Dick Engel, our two most School-Spirited seniors certainly deserve this award. During football season they were seen, rain or shine, at each and every one of the games, Dick, of course, was playing, and Sharon watching Dick.

Most Athletic

Diane Butterfield and Tom Weir, our "athletes of the year" have been so chosen because of their obvious inclination toward sports and their adeptness at them. Diane plays a variety of sports, among them are softball, basketball, and volleyball. Tom plays (besides football) baseball, at which he excels, and basketball.

Jesters

Jokes, pranks, laughter, and constant frolic seem to be the trade-mark of Joan Goudreau and Stanley Brown. Never is there a dull moment when these two are around. Certainly it cannot be denied that Joan and Stan will go far and will get much enjoyment out of life as long as they keep their happy laughs and jesting personalities.

Friendliest

Beaming faces and cheerful greetings typify Laurie Renny and Tom Hahney. Their smiling faces brighten even the dullest of days. It is no wonder that these two seniors have been chosen "Friendliest" by their classmates.

Best Dressed

Helen Spangler and Michael McAllister, "fashion plates" of the Senior Class, have been popularly chosen so, for everyone realizes how much pride these students take in, not only their social, but also, their daily dress.

Best Looking

Narimasu has always been a school of good-looking students. But the Class of 1962 has two of the best-looking students ever. We are proud to announce that Holly Hicks and John Dennis have been selected as our "best-looking" girl and boy.

Most Scholastic

Barbara Symroski and David Head have been chosen Most Scholastic of the Class of 1962. This should not surprise anyone who know them, for they are both esteemed members of the National Honor Society and have demonstrated their scholarly attributes upon many occasions. They should be heartily   congratulated for receiving this coveted award.

Most Likely to Succeed

As the Class of 1962 approaches the end of its high school years, each Senior will leave wondering what will become of the lives of each of his classmates.

This same class has chosen Carol Kelly and David Taylor as the two most likely to succeed. Their relationships with their teachers, superiors, and their fellow classmates have given them a head start down life's long, hard road.

Mr. & Miss Narimasu

The class of 1962 takes pride in presenting Trexler Topping and Lois Griffin the highest honor of Narimasu High School, the title of Mr. and Miss Narimasu. This title is given each year by the Senior Class to the senior boy and girl who, in addition to being scholars, leaderes, and people of outstanding character, have done the most for their school and class.

Domo arigato to Pamela McGarvey, NHS '65, for these pictures and the Class of '62 Senior photos, laboriously scanned .. individually .. from the '62 Sensu.  The Classes of '63, '64 & '65 are in the works.  Pam was Editor of The (original) Dragon's Roar her Senior year.  She e-mailed a one-liner that is as nostalgic as an entire book: "It's a dreary California day, and I wish I could hop on my bike and go to the front gate for some spring rolls, gyoza or a big bowl of soba for 50 yen." *sigh*
